The European Radiation Dosimetry Group EURADOS comprises more than 50 institutions and a few hundred of scientists actively involved in the dosimetry of ionising radiation. EURADOS stimulates collaboration between European laboratories, especially those of the European Union and associated states. EURADOS was conceived in 1981 to advance the scientific understanding of the dosimetry of ionising radiation, to facilitate the access to unique irradiation and research facilities, and to coordinate research in dosimetry which is scattered in many, in some cases very small, institutions in numerous European countries. These latter aspects became particularly important
