The Fourteenth International Symposium on Microdosimetry was held at Venezia-Isola di San Servolo, Italy, from 13 to 18 November 2005.

It was jointly organized by INFN-Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro, Legnaro-Padova, Italy; INFN-Sezione di Pavia and Universita' di Pavia Dipartimento di Fisica Nucleare e Teorica, Pavia-Italy; NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston-USA; CERN, Geneve-Switzerland; Medical Research Council, Harwell-UK.

The Symposium was co-sponsored by the six organizations acknowledged elsewhere in these proceedings.
