Theoretical physicists have long sought to formulate the so-called grand unification theory that would consist of a single integrated approach to describing the strong nuclear force, the electromagnetic force, the weak nuclear force and the gravitational force. Thereby, all the laws of physics could be encompassed in a single theory. The field of radiation protection dosimetry might benefit from having a more consistent formalism that could also be called a grand unification.
