Quantifying Radiation Risks

The multi-attribute approach used by the International Commission on Radiological Protection to quantify aggregated detriment is discussed. Using the nominal probability coefficients derived, a dose limit was chosen for a given set of practices, above which the consequences to the individual would be widely regarded as unacceptable.
