A Portable Continuously Working Radon Measurement System

H. Friedmann

Different applications of a portable radon measurement system based on an ionisation chamber are discussed. The distribution of the radon and radium concentration in Austrian springs is summarised. In addition the radon contents of different gases, e.g. gases of springs, the public gas supply in Vienna etc. are examined. As an example of a continuous use of the system, the observation of the radon concentration in a spring for an earthquake prediction research project is presented.
