Use of LiF:Mg,Cu,P in Environmental Gamma Dosimetry
The present contribution is a summary of the authors' experience of the dosimetric use of sintered lithium fluoride doped with magnesium, copper and phosphorous, commercially available as GR-200A. The paper reports the results of a number of gamma measurements carried out in various indoor sites in Casaccia Centre, Rome. A direct comparison was made between these data and the results obtained using a calibrated Reuter-Stokes ionisation chamber, generally accepted as a reference instrument. The agreement between the two methods can be considered as good, taking into account the fact that the energy-response curves of the two systems are considerably different over the whole energy range.
