Fractal Analysis of SSNTD Detectors and Materials

G. Espinosa and V.M. Castaņo

Fractal analysis can be used in determination of properties, characterisation, and radiation and breakdown effects of materials in SSNTD. One of the current challenges in the solid state nuclear track detection method is that of finding or producing new materials with a better response to radiation, a high sensitivity, a lower background and easier etching and developing processes. The results are presented of fractal analysis applied to polymers subjected to different types of radiation and for different etching conditions.
