Thermoluminescence Dosimetry of Beta Radiation on the Basis of Several TL Detectors of Usual Thickness

V.I. Gotlib, V.L. Grebenschicov, L.N. Kantorovich and E.A. Nemiro

Detailed analysis of the thermoluminescence (TL) dosimetry method for ß radiation has been performed based on determination of the correction factor for energy dependence using the ratio J12 of TL responses of two detectors with different thickness (H1 < H2). It has been found that the optimum PVC filter thickness on the thick detector enhancing the resolution of the method is equal to 0.005-0.010 cm. It has been shown that the angular distribution of ß radiation causes a negligible error in the determination of the correction factor.
