The Present State of Track Etch Processes in Radiation Dosimetry
Damage track detectors exploit one of the most important properties of the nuclear track structure, namely the high energy deposition at submicroscopic distances from the trajectory of high LET particles. The unique registration characteristics of these new detectors make it possible to solve some of the most complex problems of radiation protection dosimetry, such as the assessment of low concentrations of natural and man-made alpha emitting radionuclides and the measurement of low neutron doses in the entire neutron energy range of interest.
