On the Physical Properties of Metallic Colloids in Ionic Crystal Applicable to a Dosemeter
Thermal stability of Na colloids formed in NaC1 after intense electron irradiation was investigated by using photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS). It was found that both isothermal and isochronal bleaching of the colloidal band (C-band) consists of two stages: initial slow and subsequently rapid decay, which shows an exponential decrease associated with a thermal activation energy more than 2.0 eV. The rapid decay of the C-band was also found to accompany a TL glow peak indicating the recombination between the colloids and the hole centres.
