UV Induced Trapping in Powder and in Sintered CaSO4:Tm and CaSO4:Dy
CaSO4:Tm and CaSO4:Dy are both known to possess a dosimetric peak at approximately 220 oC. A TL peak at a temperature higher than this dosimetric peak is observed on UV irradiation in powder CaSO4:Tm and CaSO4:Dy and on UV and ? irradiation in sintered CaSO4:Tm and CaSO4:Dy. This peak is at ~330 oC and ~280 oC in powder CaSO4:Dy and CaSO4:Tm respectively and at ~330 oC in the sintered pellets of both the materials. It is observed that UV light causes charge trapping as well as phototransfer involving this peak.
