Thin CaSO4:Dy for Beta Dosimetry, Grain Size and Energy Dependence

E. Luguera, F. Fernández, J. Planas, K.E. Dahabi, G. Bruguier, M. Daoud and J. Gasiot

One of the problems of beta dosimetry is the different response of CaSO4:Dy when irradiated with electrons having different energies. We are looking for the adequate grain size in order to obtain a good and flat TL response in an energy interval as wide as possible. We present the study of CaSO4:Dy (1%) TL response as a function of the grain size, in the range 25-200 µm, and its energy dependence when irradiated with electrons of energy up to 3 MeV.
